Preschool Programming

Inclusive Montessori Preschool

Through our inclusive preschool, we will cultivate each child’s intellectual and creative potential, appreciation of relationships in nature and society, and a sense of individual responsibility with a love of work and respect for all. To ensure diversity and inclusion, we offer an intentional neuro-diverse classroom that has spots dedicated to typically developing children and to children that are currently enrolled in our Empowering Kids EIDBI program.

What is Montessori?

“It is not true,” says Dr. Maria Montessori, “that I invented what is called the Montessori Method. I have studied the child, I have taken what the child has given me and expressed it, and that is what is called the Montessori Method.”

The Child’s Role

“Children acquire knowledge through experience in the environment.”

The Teacher’s Role

“The teacher’s task is not to talk, but to prepare and arrange a series of motives for cultural activity in a special environment made for the child.”

Core Components

of a Quality Montessori Program

Properly Trained Montessori Teachers

Have an understanding of Montessori philosophy, curriculum, classroom management, and child development at the level they teach.

Specially Designed Montessori Materials

Hands-on, interactive, and engaging. They enable students to learn through discovery.

Uninterrupted Work Periods

Students develop concentration, time-management skills, and a love for learning.

Multi-Age Classrooms

Students benefit from differentiated learning based on abilities, not age. Self-esteem is built on personal accomplishments rather than comparison.

Student-Directed Work

Students are intrinsically motivated, work at their own pace and learn about their personal strengths and ability to improve.

Parent Testimonial

We couldn’t wish for anything more!

Since starting at the Montessori preschool, our daughter has begun engaging with peers and has found her teachers to be her “safe people.” This is something that rarely happens outside of immediate family and few others. She warmed up to Chelsey and Hattie very quickly because of their calm demeanor and engagement with the kids. The staff have met her where she is at and help facilitate interactions and peer relationships so that she can be apart of the group. They create space for her to be herself, and as a parent of a neurodivergent kiddo, we couldn’t wish for anything more!

Z

Cosmic Education
